Em Meier
Em (short for Emily) is a firm believer that the most functional things in life are also the most beautiful: bicycles, antique cast iron pans, hand-me-down books, and quality wool sweaters, to name a few. Good design and communications should be the same way: equal parts aesthetically pleasing, practical, and solidly effective.
In her current role, Em helps to lead and elevate the goals and mission of the National Interscholastic Cycling Association as Senior Brand & Marketing Manager. She is also a former teacher and mountain bike coach who is passionate about helping both kids and adults build community, character, and identity through the joys of riding bikes outside. As a nonprofit professional with the mindset of a lifelong learner and teacher, Em is a strategic, systems-thinker with a diverse skillset that spans from project management to program administration, graphic design to brand strategy, communications to content creation, and organizational development to culture and capacity building. Regardless of her role, Em is commited to bringing a human-centered mindset to all she does, drawing from her experience with coaching, teaching, peer leadership, and mentorship.
When she’s not working with NICA, volunteering, or designing, you can find Em planning her next adventure and getting outdoors as much as possible: riding through the Driftless trails and roads of Wisconsin with her partner, hiking with her dog Dot, and spending time in the sunshine with her family and friends.
Em is based in south-central Wisconsin and is currently accepting extremely limited freelance projects.
