Communications
Em has worked in some form of communications since 2003, when she became the editor in chief of her high school newspaper. Since then, a love of crafting clear and moving words and visuals have led her to several awards in college journalism, jobs in nonprofit communications, and volunteer roles helping to tell the story of causes that are close to her heart, such as her local youth mountain bike team.
Em has also served in a professional capacity as the communications lead for the Rural Schools Collaborative, Director of Communications for Madison Audubon Society, and as an administrator and social media guru at the Teton Science Schools, a nationally-recognized leader in place-based, outdoor education in Jackson, Wyoming. She currently works as the senior communications manager for the National Interscholastic Cycling Association, a nonprofit that is reinventing the youth sports experience through youth mountain bike programs for kids across the United States.
